Do we need a fishing license?

Yes, everyone needs a valid fishing license for the area you’ll be fishing. Use the links below to get yours and learn more:

In Oregon: https://myodfw.com/articles/oregon-hunting-and-fishing-licenses

In Washington: https://wdfw.wa.gov/licenses

Salmon and Steelhead trips will also require a harvest catch card. If fishing in the Columbia River a Columbia River endorsement maybe required.

Note: If purchasing your license online from Washington State, allow aa minimum of 10 days to receive your documents in the mail.

Is all the fishing gear, tackle, and bait provided?

Yes, we provide all tackle, bait, and gear. We work with some of the best manufacturers around for all our lures and we use top-of-the-line equipment.

How many people can go on the fishing trip?

The U.S. Coast Guard and State licenses only allow us to take 6 passengers for hire.

Is there an age or experience requirement?

No experience is necessary. We encourage kids and young adults to get out on the water and have fun learning to fish!

Are Deposits required before the trip?

Deposits are required before the trip but only after the season is set by state managers and you have confirmation through Charles for your date. Once you have received confirmation visit our “Make A Deposit” page here.

What is your cancelation policy?

To cancel a trip, Contact me ASAP. If you cancel 30 days or less before your trip date, your deposit is NOT REFUNDABLE. If your cancellation comes 31 days or more before your trip date your deposit WILL BE REFUNDED. This gives me adequate time to rebook a trip for that date. We will do our best to fill the trip.  If we are able to fill the seats, we will refund the deposits. If we cancel your trip due to bad or unsafe river conditions, illness, or a family emergency your deposit WILL BE refunded. Any no-shows or trips canceled 4 days or less before the trip date require you to pay the FULL PAYMENT of the trip.

Can I book a trip too early?

NO!  Reserving a date early is the best way to get a great tide, season, or fishery.  It’s best to book as early as possible.

What do I need to bring on my trip?

All fishing gear, tackle, and bait are provided. All you need is a valid fishing license in Oregon or Washington (with Columbia River Endorsement, and catch card) warm and waterproof clothes, camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, drinks, lunch/snacks, and a cooler for your catch. We’ve got the rest!

Is Alcohol allowed on board?

Yes, as long as guests remain reasonably safe and able.  Other substances, even legal within the state, ARE NOT allowed.  We are a federally licensed operation.  More information here.

What should we wear?

We always suggest layering up and wearing rain gear and appropriate footwear. Mornings can be chilly, and even if the forecast shows no rain there’s a possibility of getting wet while running down river.

Can we keep our catch?

We try to target what we can keep but in some areas, we are not allowed to keep natives. We fish in a lot of locations that are hatchery-only fisheries.

Are we guaranteed to catch fish?

Unfortunately no, catching is never guaranteed. We will guarantee that we will work as hard as we can to put you on fish, and we strive to make sure you have the best time possible.

How do we get our catch home?

Charles will fillet and bag your fish at the end of the trip. We recommend you bring a cooler that you can leave in your vehicle for transportation.

Where will we meet you to launch our trip?

The launch site will be confirmed during booking.
